چکیده

Objective: We aimed to evaluate magnetic resonance imaging-ultrasound guided fusion prostate biopsy (MRI- US FPBx) results from a single center and compare with current literature. Material Methods: Between January 2016 July 2019, MRI-US FPBx pathological imaging of 358 men were retrospectively analyzed. PI-RADS scores determined as 3, 4 5 in 222 (62%), 107 (29.8%) 29 (8.1%) patients, respectively. Totally 454 lesions underwent FPBx. 303 (66.7%) scored 120 (26.4%) 31 (6.8%) 5. 315 (69.3%) peripheral zone, 26 (5.7%) central 111 (24.4%) transitional zone 2 them anterior fibromuscular stroma. Results: Overall cancer detection rate was 36.3%. Concerning rates, alone transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS-Bx) 27.6% 26.5%, Cancer only through PIRADS-3 4&5 6.9% 20.6%, Clinically significant (csPCa) rates evaluated csPCa overall (PCa) for TRUS-Bx, combined techniques 16.8%, 35.4% 39.2%, Results 11 patients benign. Conclusion: significantly increases success procedure. Regarding MRI technology, it is not appropriate consider stand-alone option without concomitant TRUS-Bx. Keywords: cancer; biopsy; MRI;

Target detection: magnetic resonance imaging-ultrasound fusion-guided prostate biopsy.

Recent advances in multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have enabled image-guided detection of prostate cancer. Fusion of MRI with real-time ultrasound (US) allows the information from MRI to be used to direct biopsy needles under US guidance in an office-based procedure. Fusion can be performed either cognitively or electronically, using a fusion device. Fusion devices allow superi...

Targeted prostate biopsy using magnetic resonance imaging-ultrasound fusion.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men worldwide, with an estimated 1.1 million new diagnoses and over 300,000 deaths reported in 2012 by the World Health Organization. A recent 5-year prevalence of the disease was nearly four million, far exceeding all other malignancies in men. Because of these numbers, efforts to improve early detection, accurate assessment of disease bur...

Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging-transrectal ultrasound fusion prostate biopsy: A prospective, single centre study

INTRODUCTION Transrectal rectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided systematic biopsy is the gold standard for diagnosis of prostate cancer. However, systematic biopsy has high false-negative rate and often misses anteriorly located tumors. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-TRUS fusion biopsy can potentially improve cancer detection by better visualization and targeting of cancer focus. We evaluated the ro...

Magnetic Resonance Imaging-Guided Prostate Biopsy: Present and Future

Systemic transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy (TRUSBx) is the standard procedure for diagnosing prostate cancer (PCa), but reveals a limited accuracy for the detection of cancer. Currently, multiparametric MR imaging (mp-MRI) is increasingly regarded as a promising method to detect PCa with an excellent positive predictive value. The use of mp-MRI during a MRI-guided biopsy (MRGB) procedure imp...
